Sunday 11th June saw the Perth Racecourse annual Gold Cup meeting. Auto Services Perth Ltd were in attendance with a display of the UK's first all Electric pickup the Maxus T90 as well as both Diesel and Electric versions of the very popular Maxus Deliver 9.

Heat wave!
It's a fair distance on foot to the nearest ice cream shop from the garage, so we were fortunate today, in this crazy heat, to be visited by one of our valued customers, with his ice cream van.
The van was in for a minor repair but also providing the opportunity for staff to cool down with a delicious ice cream.
The Association of Vehicle Operators have appointed our Mark Crozier as Region 1 (Scotland) National Council Member.
We are sure Mark will prove to be a great asset to the Council in their pursuit of improvements to the industry.

Work commences on our re-development plans
The Company has been busy behind the scenes working with architects, building contractors and the the local planning department on our project to redevelop our existing site at Ruthvenfield Place, Perth.....stage 1 of our huge re-devlopment and expansion plans. Break the ground commenced in May 2022 with the strip out of the existing partitions and internal rooms with stage 2 fit out and expansion to commence in June 2022. Exciting times.....

Auto Services Perth Ltd sponsors and supports the Perthshire Classic Car Tour 2022
Auto Services Perth Ltd provided emergency support for the drivers and navigators in the 2022 Perthshire Classic Car Tour. The Company provided a Recovery vehicle to act as ‘Tail End Charlie’ to follow the Tour, as it weaved its way through Perthshire.
The Tour kicked off from Perth McDiarmid Park, making its way west through Crieff, Lochearnhead, Tyndrum, Glen Coe, all the way to Ballachulish at the mouth of Loch Leven, and returning to Crieff. The Tour was organised by the Perth and Blairgowrie Rotary Clubs and the event raised significant funds for extremely worthy causes, including The Rotary Club Of Scotland, Prostate Scotland , and My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. The event has also enjoyed Royal patronage, with Royal Highnesses the Duke of Kent and Prince Michael of Kent driving some of the classic cars.
The Tour took place on ‘National Drive It Day‘, created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs in 2005, the occasion when historic vehicle enthusiasts and the public at large celebrate the One Thousand Mile Trial, organised in 1900, to prove the viability of the latest invention, the motor vehicle.

The article touches on Automatic Number Plate Recognition (AMPR), which is such clever Technology - On occasion our Rental Department receive parking fines triggered by AMPR as some of our Rental customers can fall foul of parking rules - how frustrating! Is it not a horrible thing a parking fine - nothing brings less pleasure!

A Member Q&A session was also held with our Head of Recovery Department and Director, Mark Crozier. Mark discusses all-things Recovery ...... and reveals who he would take to a desert Island......(a good answer Mark!).
The second industry publication in January 2022 featured Auto Services Perth Ltd Recovery department in the January 2022 edition of the Professional Recovery Magazine, in an article on Scottish Operators.

As part of our 40th Anniversary celebrations Auto Services Perth Ltd sponsored the full race meeting at Perth Racecourse on Monday 6th September 2021.
We supply course cars to the racecourse all year round but decided to go further with a six-race sponsorship.
A great day was had by all.

Our Recovery Department has been featured in the August edition of the Association of Vehicle Operators - Recovery of the month.
One truck got stuck up a lane and the customer sent another truck to pull the first truck out. Both trucks then became stuck, and Auto Services Perth Ltd came along and pulled both out.

Recovery department featured in PROFESSIONAL RECOVERY magazine
Our recovery department has been featured in the August edition of 'Professional Recovery' magazine, edition 345 page 43/44 under the article 'Time to focus on Scotland'.
The article included our great photo of our trucks in action at Dunkeld Road, Perth - a busy shot on a blue sky day in Scotland, featuring road and rail in action!

40th Anniversary of trading
Auto Services Perth Ltd is celebrating 40 years of trading in November and is planning to celebrate, Covid-19 restrictions allowing, with a dinner dance for all staff, partners and company associates at Murrayshall House Hotel. Steve and his father, Jim, started the business in a lock up in St Catherine's Road in 1981 and although Jim has since died, Steve's mum, now 92, is planning to be at the party. We hope it will be a memorable evening and Steve is already planning the celebrations for the 50th having bought a barrel of whisky which will be bottled exclusively for the garage's 50th birthday in 2031.
